Fire Up the Grill

Summertime requires outdoor cooking!  There is something about the sounds, smells, and tastes that cannot be duplicated any other way.  Try out these amazing marinade recipes that include essential oils for your next grilled meal!

For each of these recipes, mix up the ingredients quickly and easily in a bowl, add the meat, veggies, or fruit, and allow to marinade...the longer the better!  Fire up the grill and let those amazing flavors make your summer even more memorable!


CHILI LIME MARINADE
  • 1 ½ tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 8 drops Lime essential oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon grass, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili flakes
  • 1 ½ tablespoons ginger
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

SWEET & SOUR MARINADE
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 8 drops Wild Orange essential oil

INDIAN MARINADE
  • 1 cup plain whole-milk yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 drop Cinnamon Bark or Clove essential oil

BALSAMIC ROSEMARY MARINADE
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pepper
  • 2 drops Rosemary essential oil

GRILLED PINEAPPLE MARINADE
  • ½ cup brown or coconut palm sugar
  • ½ pineapple peeled, cored, and cut
  •  1 drop Cinnamon essential oil






Lime Essential Oil:

Uses
  • Diffuse to cleanse the air and lift your mood.
  • Put some Lime on a cotton pad and use to help remove grease spots and sticker residue.
  • Add a drop of Lime to your drinking water for enhanced flavor.
  • Add 1 drop to your facial cleanser or shampoo for added cleansing properties.
Directions for Use
Diffusion: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice.
Internal use: Dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid.
Topical use: Apply one to two drops to desired area. Dilute with doTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil to minimize any skin sensitivity. See additional precautions below.
